AN avid thrifter has revealed how to spot a valuable video game at second hand shops.
Shopping at a thrift store is always a gamble.

Some shoppers will leave empty-handed while others stumble upon a treasure trove of goods.
It all comes down to having the patience to sift through the assortment of items, and attention to detail.
TikToker American Arbitrage (@americanarbitrage) shared a perfect example of this in one of his most recent videos.
He was looking through several DVDs and video games that were in one section of the store.

He found three classic Sega Genesis games that would earn him as much as $20, but the real prize was hiding on another shelf.
"If you're in the video game section at the thrift store, look out for the NCAA franchise," he said, holding up an Xbox 360 football game.
The NCAA Football 14 version resells for upwards of $120.
Despite the game being from 2013, one seller was able to get $140 for it on eBay earlier this month.

A refurbished version is selling on Amazon for a whopping $223.
Of course it all depends on the condition the game is in, plus if it's working properly.
The game can't be played on the newer Xbox One console, making it even more valuable for fans.

There are tons of valuable video games hiding at second-hand stores.
Chuck Gee (@chuckecheeesy) regularly shares his thrift finds on TikTok, and he recently found two extremely rare video games.
"Absolutely insane vintage gaming find of a lifetime," he wrote in the video caption of the video.
His first find was a vintage version of The Legend of Zelda that was still in the box and even had the user manual.
His second find was the iconic Super Mario Bros 3 that was still wrapped in plastic.
"That is absolutely crazy. And the best part is, with the weight of these...They probably cost maybe a quarter or 30 cents.
"This is the steal of the century. Hands down the best goodwill find I have ever had."
Chuck said he would be able to make back between $100 and $300 on each game.
